Match or Not: Brain Games is a Memory puzzle game in which pictures are placed facing downwards in a 2x2 or larger board. Each turn/move, the player must choose a pair of pictures from the board, if the both pictures are identical, they will be removed from the board otherwise they will be put back to the board. The goal of this game is to clear the board by revealing all matching pairs.
Clear the level as quickly as possible with the least possible move to achieve high score
The game contains three themes to choose from; animals, fruits and flags. Each theme contains 10 levels with increasing difficulty and board size, starting from 2x2 board all the way to 10x6 board. Match or Not has a time limit for each level (proportional to board size but still nevertheless generous) and a scoring system which consists of local (total score per theme) and global score (total score of all three themes). Upon completing 10 levels of a theme, a high score will be saved. Once all themes are completed, players can share their global score on Twitter.
Level scoring is determined by how many moves used to clear a level (the lesser the better) and time remaining. Level score determines level rating ranging from 1 to 3 stars. However, level rating serves as nothing but cosmetic award since the next level can be unlocked by simply clearing the current level regardless of rating, therefore there may be a lack of sense of progression.
Visually Match or Not looks great with its cartoony graphics, however there may be some cards whose sprite looks rather blurry, and some menu transitions felt too slow.
Later levels can be particularly challenging
While not offering anything particularly new, overall Match or Not is a fairly decent and casual fun (and might be challenging too in later level) Memory type game to spent your free time on.
Intuitive scoring system
Numerous increasingly challenging levels
Somewhat lacks of variety and sense of progression
